When you’re down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.

Mariah Carey - Santa Clause Is Coming To Town

This brand new version was re-recorded this year. Not sure why yet, but it sure sounds different. And makes a change to the usual version.

Jamelia - Last Christmas

Jamelia is one in a long line of artists performing this song. "Last Christmas" is a song written by George Michael in 1984. It was released by his group Wham! in time for Christmas that year and sold well over a million copies, but was kept from the number one position by "Do They Know It's Christmas?". It is thus the best-selling single in the UK never to have made number one. In a second attempt at the coveted Christmas No. 1 slot it was re-released the following year, making No. 6 in the charts.

It has become a holiday standard, receiving perennial airplay in both the UK and US, and has been covered by an array of artists:

In 1985 a French version was released as "Reviens-moi" by Dalida and was a hit in France.

In 1995 a version was released by Danish singer Whigfield.

In 1998 a version was released by British singer Billie Piper.

In 1999 Darren Hayes (of Savage Garden) recorded a version for Rosie O'Donnell's "Rosie Christmas" album.

In 2002, Hilary Duff recorded a version of the song for the holiday album Santa Claus Lane.

In 2004 a version was released on a limited edition '7 by American band Jimmy Eat World exclusively to iTunes.
